I am not one for New Years Resolutions. I love the idea but find that really they are nothing more than a way to add one more thing that feels unattainable to the “to do” list. Despite my resistance to setting a ton of lofty goals, I do strongly believe in the power of the written word- “If you write it, it will come”. When I am on my A -game and meditating daily, I end each session with 5 minutes of writing notes on my phone. This has become my journal.I enjoy various guided meditations– when I take my headphones off, it is so easy just to flip to the journal section and start writing.

I like this for two reasons;

Sunflower

One- because it gives my thoughts both positive and negative a place to go. Two- because I have the opportunity to scroll through what I have written and see how things are unfolding. The phone is also something always have on hand– this practice is also more productive than logging on to Facebook when in need of a time filler.

I find that I typically write more about how I would like to see life rather than allowing my dissatisfaction or fear/worry to run the show (make no mistake, this does not always translate off the page 🙂 I guess my point is, that more often than not, if I write my thoughts and feelings down in all honesty and openness–  much of the time these things become reality. My dreams come true, my thoughts come to and change my life. Maybe not immediately or directly but life unfold and things just manifest.

I urge you to give it a shot. Start 2016 by adding a little space for intention and creation. First thing in the morning, before the day starts swirling around and taking over… see what you write and check in on what you have written as time goes on. You will be surprised at how much of your “random” scribblings come to life–  so tread lightly and be careful what you “ask for”. You are more powerful than we know!
